Train inspections
Unstad carried out a large-scale fleet inspection following the Traffic Package 2 transition and established a technical baseline that reduced risk and provided a foundation for efficient fleet management and maintenance planning.
Following the transition of Traffic Package 2 operations, Unstad carried out a comprehensive fleet inspection to document vehicle condition and establish a solid decision basis for continued operations. The client assumed responsibility for a diverse fleet consisting of locomotives, coaches, DMUs, and freight wagons, and the inspections were completed within a tight timeframe of 2.5 months.
The inspection covered approximately 5,000 checkpoints per vehicle and included assessment of mechanical, electrical, and structural components. Unstad developed a systematic methodology tailored to the different vehicle types, conducted on-site inspections, and documented findings using digital tools for efficient data collection and reporting.
Findings were categorized by criticality and safety impact, and the client received transparent reports with clear recommendations and identification of systematic issues. The delivery established a robust technical baseline for fleet management, reduced risk during the transition, and provided a foundation for targeted maintenance planning and further operational optimization.
