Snowplow re-engineering

Unstad carried out reverse engineering of a snowplow system for the Di4 and established new production documentation using 3D scanning, 3D models, and manufacturing drawings. The delivery was completed within a short time and cost frame and enabled efficient production and further lifecycle management.

Unstad carried out reverse engineering of a snowplow system for Di4 locomotives to establish a new, production-ready basis. The work included a technical review of the existing solution and further development based on the locomotives’ operational requirements.

The snowplow was 3D scanned and measured to ensure accurate geometry and dimensions. Based on this, complete 3D models and digital files were produced, providing a precise foundation for further engineering and manufacturing. Manufacturing drawings were then developed to enable fabrication, assembly, and future maintenance of the system.

The delivery was completed within a short time and cost frame, with a focus on accuracy, functionality, and practical feasibility. The result was a snowplow design ready for production and operational use, in line with established engineering principles.
