Introduction of new trains

Unstad supported the client in improving the ECM process in line with EU Regulation 2019/779, with a particular focus on strengthening the interface between F3 and F4. In parallel, Unstad supported the introduction of new trainsets by updating SAP MRO and coordinating the functional breakdown structure (FBS) and maintenance data.

Unstad was engaged to support the client in two parallel projects related to maintenance management, system support, and compliance with EU regulations. The first project focused on further developing the client’s ECM process (Entity in Charge of Maintenance) in line with Regulation (EU) 2019/779, with particular emphasis on improved integration between F3 (Fleet Maintenance Management) and F4 (Maintenance Execution).

The work included clarifying roles and responsibilities across the ECM functions (F1–F4), improving collaboration and handover routines, and updating governance documentation and training material. Unstad also contributed to identifying and specifying the necessary system changes to support the process improvements.

In parallel, Unstad supported the introduction of new trainsets into the client’s fleet by establishing the required technical structure and maintenance baseline in SAP MRO. This included updating master data, collecting critical technical data from Norske tog, and coordinating the mapping of the functional breakdown structure (FBS) between the parties to ensure correct implementation of maintenance data and structure in the system.
